No matter what the economic conditions are, the old hotdog vending cart is still in existence, but with it has come a vast array of new foods and services. Italian ices, pizza, pretzels, ribs, and sausages, are only a few of the common foods now sold from vending carts. One of the more unique marketing techniques is vending carts that strictly cater organic foods.
The vending cart or food concession industry requires long hours and hard work. As with any business, success is not handed to you on a silver platter. One of the keys to success is location and in many cases finding the “right†location can be a very frustrating exercise. More and more venues are appearing. Large big box retailers are leasing vending cart space on their parking lots, because they see it as a customer draw. In the same manner, many car dealerships look to vending cart and food concession operators to draw customers to their facilities.
A mobile cart to house the laptops is often the most over looked item for your mobile labs. Your cart will need a power strip to charge the laptops. Your cart will need some sort of lock to prevent theft. It also needs to be easily moved from class to class. If the cart is too large and bulky teachers will hesitate to use it. Next, your cart must be user friendly so students can take out the laptops and place them back in easily. I have seen schools make there own laptop carts and you can purchase them from various vendors. Just remember if the cart isn’t easy to use then your laptops won’t be safe, teachers won’t use them and they will get stolen or broken.
In addition to the local small enterprises and businesses which are near the town-centers that are created, there will also need to be “mobile businesses” such as cleaners, sales carts and other incidental types of businesses. As more money is flowing in the area the 800,000 population will continue to support them. Mobile Cart businesses will be very simplistic and each cart provides yet one more job.
